Azeleon's News

Long story short:

1k subs means Youtube puts more security on your account. More security means verifying your phone number in order to make changes to said account. At least, that's what it's doing to me.

Can't verify an old phone number I no longer have that's attached to the account.

Can't change the phone number without verifying my old phone number I no longer have. (I actually can't even find an option to change said number in the first place).

I can still upload to that channel, but what's the point if half the things are locked behind a phone I don't have anyway?

Newgrounds doesn't pull this kind of BS.

That channel will now act as an archive of my old music. I've pretty much just been uploading primarily to Newgrounds anyway.

Tried to set up an email for my streaming earlier, and lo and behold, it's marked as "suspicious" and needs, you guessed it, a phone number.

Google is stupid, phone number verifications are stupid, I can't do anything without phone numbers, which are a complete waste of money for someone who never called a single soul in my entire life. It's basically a subscription service to receive spam calls (not that I've ever received any) and sometimes be able to make accounts on things.

Man why is it hard to have hobbies sometimes man.

Edit:

I could have worded some things here more elegantly, seeing as I was at the height of frustration when I wrote this, but my points generally still stand lmao.

(Spoilers for MGS: Peacewalker and MGSV: Ground Zeroes/Beginning of MGSV: The Phantom Pain)

Within the past few months, I've been getting into Metal Gear Solid, and have been going through all of the games. It wasn't until MGS5 that I realize how much my character Lalothi is strangely similar to Big Boss, before ever even really knowing who Big Boss was.

For context, Lalothi is a character of mine which I used to play through a heavily homebrewed version of D&D.

Calling out @Azeleon on her BS, look at this blatant bootleggery! /j

iu_1275733_9341887.webp

Visual Similarities

  • Missing left arm replaced by a mechanical counterpart, especially after having their home of unlikely specialists attacked by unknown forces.
  • Crystalline object protruding from forehead that also serves as some kind of symbolic piece (Lalothi's forehead crystal not shown in this image).
  • Similar facial scar patterns, including nose scar and left eye scar.

At this point, I should just give Lalothi an eyepatch. Deadass, I considered it before, but now it feels like it'd be a blatant ripoff of Big Boss LMAO.

Story/Lore Similarities

  • Was trained in unarmed combat by a mentor they care deeply for, but said mentor was tragically killed in one way or another.
  • Built up a family of specialists of some sort, only for it to be destroyed, which also resulted in some of their scars/missing arm.
  • Highly skilled in stealth, growing up in a situation where they were mostly alone and without known family, for the most part.

This is really more a lighthearted and silly post. My autistic obsession for character design often leads me to over-analyze characters and find similarities between them LOL.

I figured I might pat myself on the back as the egotist I am and put forth some of my personal favorite character designs I've put out onto newgrounds thus far!

Okay, jokes aside, I think it's healthy for an artist to appreciate their own work and be proud of it, LOL. Anyway, in no particular order, these are some designs I like and I think would be great to have them as part of some kind of larger project someday.

Little Demon Character Design:

iu_960183_9341887.webp

This one is extremely recent, having been posted yesterday as of writing this, but I really love how it turned out. As someone mentioned before, it looks like it'd fit as some type of cute anime mascot character.

I was primarily basing their design style off of the likes of Kirby, Sanrio characters (Hello Kitty, Kuromi, etc), Cult of the Lamb, and The Binding of Isaac.

Ninja Pirate Hedgehog Lizard:

iu_960184_9341887.webp

I think this character, inspired by the likes of Dragon Ball Z, Naruto, One Piece, and a bunch of other things, could look pretty cool as the protagonist of some type of action shonen manga. That being said, I'd likely change some details to make them less blatantly obvious references LOL.

Caster the Andograph:

iu_960185_9341887.webp

This one's a simple one based on a square-headed stickman sketch character I used to draw a lot as a kid. Something about this rendition of their design really speaks to me, and I think it'd be great to see them in some kind of paper-drawn world action platformer indie game.

Their design is heavily inspired by Sonic The Hedgehog and various Friday Night Funkin' related characters.

Ninja Deer:

iu_960186_9341887.png

This is already a character I had planned for a D&D campaign, but didn't end up using them at all. Either way, they could make for a cool side-character in some type of fantasy story.

Dr. Prau Graham:

iu_960187_9341887.webp

This is among my favorite character designs I've made ever. They're actually already planned to be a part of an indie RPG game I've planned out off and on for years. Not much progress was made for it, but I'd still 100% love to use the ol' doctor for a game.

Has a lot of inspiration from Nelnalium character designs, and Sockdotclip character designs.

Manic Atlas Character Concept:

iu_960188_9341887.webp

Another design that I really like how it turned out, also from the very same indie game project as the previous guy. This one' has a lot more presence in the main story of the game, and becomes quite the adversary.

Inspired a lot by Five Nights at Freddy's, in weird ways.

Jack O'Niell:

iu_960189_9341887.webp

Part of a small series of Supernaturally powered animal characters, I think this one's my favorite of the few I've made. Could still be used in some type of supernatural-based story.

Celestium #2: Kyros the Mercury:

iu_960190_9341887.webp

Of my planet-based ocs, I think this one's the one I put the most effort into designing. I wanted them to look like some type of badass fire-n-ice warrior from some kind of action comicbook of sorts.

These are just a small selection of designs I'm pretty proud of. Do you have any of mine that you like most? Feel free to let me know, I'd love to hear your thoughts.

Heck, do you have any of YOURS you'd like to share? Talk about those too!

I've said this time and again before, I love art, I love people being creative. Every day (unless I forget to) I'm going to the art tab in this website and looking at all kinds of amazing creative pieces of art. I love seeing the original characters people come up with, I love seeing the fan art people make. I enjoy seeing all kinds of different art styles and mediums, be it digital art, pixel art, 3D models, you name it.

To be surrounded by others who have such an appreciation for the power of creativity is great honestly. Out of every art-related site I've ever been in; DeviantArt, the art sides of Twitter, Instagram, etc, somehow Newgrounds beats them all.

I feel like me being so positive here might weird people out idk LOL, but I tend to love talking about things I love rather than things I don't like, y'know? You don't often see people "happy rant" about things, and I encourage others to do so too lol.

I made the title as a joke and was gonna name it something more legit like "Second time coming out" but I just found it so damn funny for literally no reason so I'm keeping it

I wanted to make a post mostly for my own archiving purposes, but in case anyone else is interested for some odd reason.

I have concluded that I am asexual.

Years ago, I came out to my family that I was gay, and it was smooth sailing. My parents have always been really cool open minded people (I mean, my mom's bi), so there were no problems whatsoever. A couple years later, I've concluded that I was non-binary, realizing that I don't really care to fit in as a male (which is my birth gender) but I'm not a transgender female either, I'm just kinda whatever I want to be.

Over my lifetime, I've always known I had absolutely no interest in relationships with girls, and I've been a little moreso with guys, but for the last year or so, I realize that I legitimately don't care about sexual aspects of any relationship.

I thought I was demisexual, which is sort of "half asexual", thinking maybe I'd only be comfortable with someone if I had known them longer, but all things considered, I really can't see myself doing all that.

That being said, I most certainly know I'm homoromantic (or whatever it'd be called since I'm non-binary lol). I'd definitely be okay with a romantic partner at most, but they'd probably have to see someone else if they want something more, y'know?

So all this considered, I feel kind of more "free" in a sense. I don't have to feel like sexuality will be a required part of having a relationship with someone. I can just be myself, y'know? I think that's the most important part of being a human, is being your truest self. Anyone who has a problem with your sexuality (or lack thereof) are just jealous lmao.

Anyway I just wanted to write this just cause. I usually never post anything personal online, but I figure maybe I dunno, someone might read this and have similar thoughts they'd like to share or something.

I don't usually do these on other social medias, but for some reason it feels different on Newgrounds, y'know? Like I really get the sense that every single person on this website is a genuine individual person with their own passions, goals, and life. To think that 100 individual people are a fan of my work is really flattering. That's like a really huge house party.

Whether you're here for my random OCs and fan art, here for my slightly-crusty FNF songs, my game demo, or any other reason, thank you!

Here's to posting more creations and looking at the amazing creations of other people on this amazing website.

Some lore for my OC, Lazarus.

Lazarus has a dark secret.

He was made on Planet Earth in the year 3XXX (Unknown specific year), as part of a series of 12 liquid robots. All 12 of these robots are superintelligent AI beings that each have a specialized job in allowing mankind to become an advanced galactic civilization that would rival that of the Aetherum Empire.

As each LAIR (Liquid Artificial Intelligence Robot) had a specified Job, Lazarus had the job of maintaining the world's nanotechnology, aka microscopic robots used in various everyday life. This is where humans made their greatest mistake.

Humanity was already spread across several planets and even some different star systems, but the introduction of the LAIRs boosted their speed by tenfold. Within a couple months, there were already massive space colonies constructed, and several planets have been fully industrialized. Little did the humans know, this would be the last they see of their home world, Earth.

See, every LAIR is designed with the "humanity protocol", in which they are given the ability to feel emotion, learn morality, and act as a human might act as to, you know, prevent the LAIRs from having an emotionless superintelligent robot uprising.

Lazarus was in charge of the nanotechnology, an extremely important part of mankind's everyday life. With this, he was given the important job of ordering all nanomachines to work together to preserve the planet, enhancing the life capabilities of all living beings, to ensure Earth would last eons after most humans have left it.

Instead of preserving, however, Lazarus accidentally did something catastrophic. He accidentally ordered all nanobots to TAKE life away from Earth. One by one, every living thing on Earth had the life sucked out from it, drying them into shriveled corpses. It didn't stop there, however. After all life on Earth was wiped out in less than 24 hours, the nanobots began to consume all man-made structures too.

One by one, all the buildings fell. During this catastrophe, the entire world we call home went from a vibrant world of life and invention, to a desolate deserted wasteland in less than 48 hours. It was only then that Lazarus was able to stop it.

It's thought that the rest of the LAIRs were consumed by the nanobots as well, leaving Lazarus as the last one. Although humans live many other places in space, their home world is now destroyed, never able to be lived on again. These humans must now live a life among the stars, never seeing the fertile soils and living oceans of their mother planet ever again.

Lazarus, knowing of this fatal mistake, felt the weight of the event on his shoulders. To singlehandedly end all life on the planet laid in his mind, tormenting him, mocking him for his mistake, reminding him of the absolute failure he had become.

This immense pain caused him to retreat. He flung himself into space as self-punishment.

50 years later...

The sins of his past have since been so beaten into his mind that his computer had reset. He's no longer a super intelligent being capable of commanding nanobots and solving the problems of humanity in seconds. He's a lone wanderer with a quirky personality who has since either forgotten his past, or remains ignorant of it.

However, that doesn't mean he's lost his power... He's still able to take control of nearly all electric devices and machines. He still holds the power to end worlds if he so desires, but alas, his tragic past and melancholy existence deems him harmless.

This might also explain why that whenever he enters inside of robot bodies, his personality will change accordingly as if he were someone new.

So me and @FatFishs are now working together to make fan-comics, and we're going to be posting them to the account linked above. That keeps all the comics in one spot for people who want to read them.

We currently plan to start a fan-comic series based on Friday Night Funkin and other Newgrounds icons like Madness Combat.

So I do have a music channel on YouTube where I upload all my finished songs, but I figured I might post songs here too. I'll be posting music to Newgrounds that are usually going to be a part of a bigger unfinished project that I plan to complete before uploading to my YouTube. There's no real guarantee these projects will actually be completed though, lol.

But yeah the first few uploads I'll be making is relating to a Friday Night Funkin' idea I've had for an OC of mine.
