Long story short:
1k subs means Youtube puts more security on your account. More security means verifying your phone number in order to make changes to said account. At least, that's what it's doing to me.
Can't verify an old phone number I no longer have that's attached to the account.
Can't change the phone number without verifying my old phone number I no longer have. (I actually can't even find an option to change said number in the first place).
I can still upload to that channel, but what's the point if half the things are locked behind a phone I don't have anyway?
Newgrounds doesn't pull this kind of BS.
That channel will now act as an archive of my old music. I've pretty much just been uploading primarily to Newgrounds anyway.
Tried to set up an email for my streaming earlier, and lo and behold, it's marked as "suspicious" and needs, you guessed it, a phone number.
Google is stupid, phone number verifications are stupid, I can't do anything without phone numbers, which are a complete waste of money for someone who never called a single soul in my entire life. It's basically a subscription service to receive spam calls (not that I've ever received any) and sometimes be able to make accounts on things.
Man why is it hard to have hobbies sometimes man.
